Strikers and Substitutes

Danny Ings, Striker – 4

Bad pass back towards the defence that sprung West Brom’s attack for their second goal. With his future up in the air, there are other players that Saints could be turning to as they look to life without Ings.

It would be a shock to see him dropped given his prowess in front of goal but there is every chance that changes may be made by Hasenhuttl.

Nathan Redmond, Striker – 5

Did not get the time on the ball that he needs to influence games as he has done recently. Despite contributing three goals and two assists in his previous two matches, he will be feeling the pressure of Adams and Tella looking to break back into the line-up.

Che Adams, 1st Substitute – N/A

Unlucky not to score after coming on but how can he be expected to make an impact in a game like this with just 14 minutes on the field?

Moussa Djenepo, 2nd Substitute – N/A

Won a late penalty that was saved. One of many players on the bench that will be trying to prove that they can provide a dynamic alternative to what was seen at the Hawthorns.

Nathan Tella, 3rd Substitute – N/A

Again, could he have made an impression – as he did against Leeds and Sheffield United – if he had been given more time on the pitch.
