It is well known that it is going to be a busy summer for Southampton and now they have been linked with defender Boubakar Kouyate.

The defender currently plays for Metz in the French League and has a number of teams that are interested in bringing him in this summer.

Among them (other than Southampton) are Norwich, Atalanta, and Roma. Norwich, recently earned promotion back into the Premier League and are looking to make their stay at the top flight a little longer than the last one.

This report is coming from Football League World and they say the 24-year-old is also capable of playing in the defensive midfield and right-back. This seems like a perfect player for Southampton who could cover multiple positions and has top-flight experience in France.

The best part is he is only valued at around £4.5M and that is easily in Southampton’s price range this summer as they look to beef up the squad.

When it comes to the Saint’s transfer window this summer I would like to see the club get business taken care of earlier rather than later like they have been the past couple of windows. They need to identify their targets and get them in as soon as possible so they can start training with the team and ready for action as soon as possible.

I am looking forward to the summer transfer window as this season has been incredibly frustrating. I think everyone involved wants to put this run of form they are currently in behind them and what better way to do that than get a fresh squad together ready to compete next season.
