Strikers and Substitutes
Che Adams, Striker – 8
Matched Redmond’s workrate and both of them were crucial in stopping free passing lanes for the Leicester defenders.
Also used his body to hold the ball up at times when Saints needed the pressure releasing.
Nathan Redmond, Striker – 8
Worked incredibly hard for the cause and did his share of pressing as the lone striker, switching with Che Adams to ensure workload was spread between them.
A player who is valued by his teammates and will get more chance to show what he an do in attack in more open games.
Mohammed Salisu, 1st Substitute – 9
Saints needed no nonsense stuff from the Ghanaian when he came on and that was just what they got. 11 clearances in all was the most of any Saints player during the 90 minutes.
Clearances were thorough and headers cleanly won. Another performance that adds to his growing reputation.
Ibrahima Diallo, 2nd Substitute – 6
Came on to stop the flow of Leicester attacks down the right flank. May have lost his place in the starting line-up to Armstrong but will surely get more minutes between now and the end of the season.
Dan N’Lundulu, 3rd Substitute – N/A
Thrown on late on to provide pressing workrate in stoppage-time. Will get more chances next season if he continues to push on.
