Southampton will take on Liverpool this Saturday in an important match for the reigning champions as they are currently outside the top 4.

We all know what happened the last time these two met and the slide Southampton have been on since. Maybe this will be the bookend of that slide if they get another result and can finish the season out strong.

Liverpool will look to handle business and win this game comfortably. The Reds will be motivated and Southampton will need to be on the lookout. Let us take a look at how both teams can win.

How Liverpool Will Win

It has been a bumpy road this season for Liverpool. There will be no hardware at the end of it this time and they are looking on the outside of the top 4.

They know they likely need to win the remaining matches left on their schedule to get in the top 4 and it starts with Southampton. They know how to beat this team and they know how rough it has been for the Saints.

They will come out of the gates hot and look to score probably 3+ goals and win this comfortably. They have too much fire power and are still playing for something.

How Southampton Will Win

The Saints will need to come out ready to compete with a team desperate for 3 points. They will have most everyone available for this match and that will provide a nice boost.

Southampton will need to be ready to defend the counter and when Liverpool switch the field of play. It is likely going to take 2 or more goals to win this one so they will need to take their chances when they come.

I do not think we will see a repeat of the first match of the season but I think this will be a more entertaining match.
