Midfielders

James Ward-Prowse, Central-Midfielder – 9

Dominant in midfield and seemed to be fired up – as he often is against Palace. Managed one exchange of words with his mate Zaha.

Has his role down to a tee and also provided a key set-piece delivery in the build-up to Adams’ goal. Nice pass to Adams ahead of the third too.

Stuart Armstrong, Central-Midfielder – 9

Not as defensively prepared as a Romeu or Diallo type player but makes up for it by providing his determined forward running from a central position.

An option for the number 10 role and central-midfield for next season and is an ideal Hasenhuttl player.

Takumi Minamino, Attacking-Midfielder – 5

Given a start even though it appears Saints will not be trying to sign him permanently in the summer and struggled to get into the game.

Showed some real promise and added another dimension to the team in his first couple of outings but Hasenhuttl clearly thinks he does not fit into his side.

Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfielder – 6

Gave away the penalty but also provided the assist for Danny Ings’ equaliser. The fact that Saints currently build up attacks in a 3-4-3 system means that he was not involved as far forward as he might like.

Despite some fans being unsure of his influence in this team, he has the ability to be a very good option in a number of positions for Hasenhuttl next season.
