Midfielders
James Ward-Prowse, Central-Midfielder – 8
Another assist from a set-piece – a dangerous ball that dropped near the goalline and caused confusion in the Fulham ranks.
Constantly there to tidy things up and was always an option for a pass. Outside of this fanbase, he continues to go under the radar but is surely the leading candidate for the Saints Player of the Year.
Stuart Armstrong, Central-Midfielder – 8
Another excellent display in a central position. Words from him to BBC Radio Solent recently explained how it is more natural to play centrally for the Scotland international and that is certainly being seen in his recent performances.
His current form is giving Saints some really healthy options in midfield for next season.
Takumi Minamino, Attacking-Midfielder – 6
Involved in some nice passages of play around the box and almost scored early on when he effort was cleared from somewhere near the goalline.
Seems odd to see him given game time in the last two games if his future does not lie at the club, but perhaps this has been an audition, who knows?
Nathan Redmond, Attacking-Midfielder – 6
In the line-up as a defensive body more than anything with the attack weighted down the right flank again.
Struggled to make simple decisions in possession and seemed frustrated at times. Just has to bide his time until the end of the season and will surely become more of an attacking presence next season if he develops his game in pre-season.
