Southampton: 3 Ryan Bertrand replacements linked with Saints transfers

Multiple signings are a must for Southampton this summer if they are to give themselves a chance of making a sustained impression in the Premier League.

Comments from manager Ralph Hasenhuttl and Martin Semmens in the recent past have suggested that some deals are close to being done with some early business being targeted.

Two or three new full-back options will be required with Ryan Bertrand departing for pastures new and a lack of cover overall, which is also seen in some other areas of the squad.

Plenty of players have been linked with a move to Saints already. Some will be genuine but others will simply be agents trying to drum up interest in their clients whilst knowing Saints are actively looking for signings.

Expensive deals would be unrealistic at St Mary’s this summer and players of potential with attributes that fit Hasenhuttl’s system will be targeted instead.
