Rico Henry

According to a report from the Evening Standard’s Jack Rosser, Saints are one of the clubs who are interested in signing Brentford left-back Rico Henry.

The report claims that a fee of around £12-15m would be enough to see the Bees part with another one of their top talents and this could be a price that represents a good investment for Saints.

After breaking into senior football with Walsall, Henry has now made 122 appearances for Brentford and established himself as one of the most talented defenders in the Championship.

He displays an explosive burst of pace when needed, is very efficient in everything he does from defence and could, therefore, be ready to push to Premier League level.

Brentford’s willingness to sell may well be determined by their success in the Championship play-off final against Swansea City tomorrow. They will want to have their best players available to them if they do finally manage to break into the top-flight after many promising seasons.

At 23, Henry represents an ideal player for many clubs to get their hands on and his future value could well bring a club some significant profit. However, his current club will know the potential their player has and the ability he could have in future years.
