Danny Ings’ future at Southampton is still up in the air so it only makes sense for the club to look for potential replacements if he leaves.

According to a new report from express, Southampton are among a number of Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Blackburn striker Adam Armstrong.

The 24-year-old striker had a tremendous season for Blackburn, who finished 15th on the table this past season.

He netted 28 goals and looked a real threat all season long. Obviously, a player who scores 28 goals will have a number of clubs after him. Joining Southampton in the race to sign the player are Newcastle and West Ham.

The move will likely cost around £20M which is a pricey player for Southampton. That may be the reason they do not sign this player as he is out of their price range but this is an important season coming up for Southampton.

They need to get out of the routine of fighting for survival each year and start finishing consistently in the top half of the table. They need to sign players of real quality who will help them win more games.

I am excited to see the number of players that are brought in but also the ones that get sold. I think we will see a number of the players sold this summer who are just not up to par for the Premier League. One comes to mind is Nathan Redmond who seems like he would be better in the Championship.

There will be a ton more rumors this summer and we will keep you up to date on all of them.
