Southampton have been interested in signing Takumi Minamino but it appears that he may be priced out of their range by Liverpool.

According to a new report from Hampshire Live, Liverpool have made it clear that they want to sell the Japanese winger this summer as opposed to sending him out on loan again.

Southampton, who he spent the second half of the season, have been interested in signing the player but it does not look like this may happen. This is because Liverpool have priced the winger at a mark that would be too high for Southampton to pay this summer.

This makes sense as Liverpool paid a pretty penny for the player from Salzburg a few summers ago and would like to make up some of that cost.

The idea of signing Minamino has split the fanbase as some see him as a luxury player and others see him as one who has not played to his potential yet and could help the team this coming season.

Personally, I liked the idea of having Minamino over a player like Redmond but if he is going to cost as much as Liverpool would like I do not think he is worth it. The club could find a player of similar talent level for cheaper from another league.

There are a number of players Southampton have already been linked to this summer and I am sure there will be many more.

It is going to be an active window for the club as they look to bounce back after the season they just had.
