Neco Williams

A report from Goal.com has confirmed that Liverpool will be willing to sell Williams for a fee of around £10m this summer.

Saints were linked with the 20-year-old on deadline day in the January window as they searched for a full-back – Takumi Minamino was eventually signed from Anfield but Williams was not allowed to depart.

With the transfer market seemingly opening up now though, Liverpool could be warming to talks with other clubs in a bid to trim their own squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Williams made 14 appearances for the Reds in a below-par season for them overall and all of his appearances came as a right-back. At Euro 2020 though, he has played for Wales as a left-back but has perhaps less experience in that position than the other linked full-backs.

What may also be attracting the eye of Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl is Williams’ ability to play as a winger and in midfield positions. The Austrian has spoken about how he would like to find talented players capable of playing in multiple positions.
