Four flexible full-backs who have been linked to Southampton recently

Junior Firpo
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo – via Sports Witness – Saints were boosted in their charge to sign Firpo from Barcelona recently.
They say that AC Milan has failed in a bid to sign the Dominican and that Barcelona would prefer a permanent sale as they look to raise some funds of their own this summer.
Saints’ interest in the 24-year-old was originally reported back in May by ESPN and he would fit what they are looking for perfectly having played in some high-profile names for a giant of a club in Barca.
He was a squad player for them in 2020/21 and may be looking to secure a move for more consistent game time this summer, with a fee of around €16m expected to be enough to sign him.
Good form for Real Betis in Spain earned him his big move to Barcelona in 2019 but, having failed to oust some of the other options ahead of him, a move away could reignite a promising career.
With Leeds and West Ham also said to be looking to sign Firpo, a deal for Saints would be seen as a coup.
