Southampton have been linked to a number of players already this summer and the latest is now La Liga winger and Belgian international, Adnan Januzaj.
According to a report from Sportwitness, Southampton and Brighton are both interested in the 26-year-old who once should a lot of promise before stumbling a bit in his career.
He is currently at Real Sociedad and has been linked with several moves to the Premier League over the past few seasons. His contract expires at the end of this upcoming season so the club could look to sell him to recoup some of the €8.5m they initially paid for him from Manchester United in 2017.
Southampton look as though they will sign a new winger this summer and Januzaj seems to be a bit of an unknown to me. I think they could find a winger who is younger and is proven for likely around the same cost as the Belgian.
The club has a ton of decisions to make this summer and they have to be careful when buying players because they have missed on so many in the past couple of seasons.
I do not think Januzaj is a good decision and the club would be better off buying someone else.
Additionally, the club need to sell a few more players before they buy anyone. It is important to get the players off the books who do not play and do not contribute to the team. They have wasted a lot of money over the years and need to start doing better business.
