Southampton are reluctant to do any business with Tottenham this summer as their relationship taken a turn for the worse in recent weeks.

According to a report from the Evening Standard, Southampton are not keen to do any business with Tottenham this summer as they still have a bad taste in their mouths from the Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg transfer.

Tottenham have identified striker Danny Ings as a potential replacement for Harry Kane who appears to be leaving soon. This will leave Tottenham in a tight spot as they will need to search elsewhere for a replacement. Strikers of the caliber of Ings cannot just be found anywhere so they could be left in a tight spot.

Ings is not the only Southampton player that Tottenham have been linked to as they are also reportedly interested in defender Jannik Vestergaard.

But as things stand, it does not look like either player will be going to Tottenham as the Saints would rather do business with any other club than the Spurs.

This could potentially play into Southampton’s favor because if Tottenham do get desperate enough they may be tempted to overpay for Ings as a way to force Southampton into business.

As much as I would hate to see Ings leave if the club can get a high enough price for him I would be fine with selling the goalscorer. Just hopefully they spend that money wisely.

I think we will see Vestergaard sold but I am not sure about Ings. Only time will tell and we will continue to keep you updated on all of the Saints transfer business this window leading up to the start of the new season.
