Leon Bailey is an exciting winger in the Bundesliga and now a number of clubs, including Southampton, are linked with him this summer.

According to a new report from 90min, a number of the clubs that are interested in the player are Premier League clubs. Southampton potentially face competition from Aston Villa, Everton, and Wolves if they decide to pursue the player.

I do not think Southampton have any real interest in the winger as his price tag is a little high for the club but if they are able to sell Ings or Vestergaard they may be able to afford the Jamaican.

The winger currently plays for Leverkusen and the German club would like to receive around £25m for the player.

Bailey is an exciting player with plenty of pace but I do not think he is worth that price tag. I think the club could find players of equivalent skill level for much cheaper.

This is one of those that just seems like Southampton’s name is thrown in there to make it look like there is more interest then there really is for the player and Villa, or one of the other clubs will make a move at £25m.

The Premier League season is just over 2 weeks away at this point and Southampton need to make some moves to solidify the squad for the season.

They have signed a couple of players and sold more but I think they will need to bring in one more to really give themselves a chance to finish higher up the table this season.

I hope they do not wait until the last day to finish up their business.
