Danny Ings have been linked with several moves away from Southampton this summer with Tottenham being the one talked about most.

According to a new report from the Telegraph, Tottenham’s interest in signing Danny Ings has cooled a bit and looks like they will pursue other options.

This is great news for Saints fans as it appears that is one less team that will come knocking for the player but Tottenham may have never even been in the running for Ings because it was rumoured he did not have any interest in joining Tottenham.

I will believe we could see some bids from clubs like Chelsea or Man City as the window comes to an end. Ings is likely on many teams’ radars and when they are not able to get their first target striker they could turn their eyes to Ings.

I have long said I am not opposed to selling Danny Ings this summer as long as we have a replacement lined up. They need to use the money they receive for the striker quickly and have a target in mind with the season quickly approaching.

This is going to be a massive season for Southampton and Ralph Hasenhuttl as they need to take a step forward this year and show that they are improving.

Last season started out so well then quickly turned to disappointment. This upcoming season they need to maintain the high level of play they are capable of and finish in the upper half of the table.

It will be interesting to see if Ings will be a part of that or not.
