Now that Danny Ings has left Southampton the club is looking for a new striker and have shown interest in Chelsea player Tammy Abraham.

According to a new report from the Evening Standard, Southampton are looking into Tammy Abraham being a possible replacement for striker Danny Ings.

The Saints are not the only team interested in the striker as there are a number of other clubs asking about him. Cheif among them is Arsenal.

It has been said that Southampton would like a loan deal for the player but it seems as though Chelsea are adamant about it being a permanent move.

Abraham is at a point in his career where he needs to be playing first team football and he will simply not get that at Chelsea. Chelsea know this so they are happy to move the player but want to cash in on him now.

Southampton obviously have some cash to play with due to Danny Ings being sold to Aston Villa and clubs will be aware of that. I do not know if Abraham will fit Hasenhuttl’s system but he is a talented striker nonetheless.

The season is now just a week away and Southampton will need to act with a bit of urgency but the last thing I want them to do is to make a rash decision. I want Hasenhuttl to get the player he feels is best for his system and will adapt quickly.

I am sure the rumours will come at as faster than we can type but we will keep you all up to date on everything we hear and the Saints journey this year.
