The rumours of Jannik Vestergaard being sold this summer started before the transfer window even opened and now he has a bid placed for him.

According to a report from the Athletic, Leicester City made an initial bid of £15m for the large centre-back. The Foxes are the first club to make a bid for the player as West Ham are allegedly interested in him as well.

It is not believed that Southampton would accept this first bid from Leicester and will hold out for something closer to £18m-£20m for the player.

I would not be opposed to selling Vestergaard this summer and letting Salisu get his shine as I believe he is more than ready to start in the Premier League. If the club can get the price they want for the player I believe they can do some more smart business before the window closes and really round out this squad.

I believe we could sign one more midfielder as well as a defender to provide some coverage in the back if the injury bug comes to bite the squad again.

Vestergaard had a tremendous season and it may be the perfect time to cash in on the player and move on. As good as he was, he is more replaceable than a player like Danny Ings and I believe we have the talent on the roster already to replace him.

The season starts in just a few days now and the club look ready to get after it. They will open the season against Everton who will be a tough test but I think they will come out and surprise some people with their play.
