Key Young Player

Daniel: Nathan Tella

It’s almost like the club wants us to think he’ll breakout this year, he’s been a massive part of their social media all over the offseason. With a bright ending to last season, the young attacker could bring some swift life into a Saints attack that just might need it.

Joe: Nathan Tella

After impressing at the back end of last season, the 22-year old looks to be graduating to a full-time first team member. The youngster’s energy and dynamism will propel Southampton forward and give fans something to get excited about.

Erik: Mohammed Salisu

Massive toss up between Tella and Salisu.  Mo Salisu has far more weight on his shoulders with the sale of Jannik Vestergaard.  Therefore, it’s Salisu who is truly key to Southampton’s success this season.  The purchase of an experienced CB could change this of course.

Alastair: Tino Livramento

If we assume that Tella has already had his breakthrough season, focus will shift to new signing Livramento – early showings suggest he seems to have a lot of potential. His versatility could prove essential and for that reason, he will be Saints young player of the season.

Marc: Nathan Tella

I agree that Livramento and Salisu will also be in the running for this award, but I hope Nathan Tella becomes a more regular starter and becomes a big contributor in assists and goals because he is clearly a Premier League star in the making.

No matter how the Everton match ended, it’s a bright new season ahead for Saints under Ralph with fans back at St. Mary’s. Give us a comment with your predictions and thoughts on the season!
