Southampton need to replace Jannik Vestergaard and are looking at newly relegated Fulham as an answer and their young centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo.

According to a new report from the Express, Southampton have joined Norwich in the race for the defender because his release clause is only around £10m because of relegation last season.

I think this would be a really smart move for the club as Adarabioyo is a highly-rated player who is, at the moment, very affordable. I would have to think, and hope, that Southampton would be a more appealing landing spot for the player than Norwich who just gained promotion.

There is only about two weeks left in the transfer window and the Saints definitely still have business to do before the window closes. Ralph has stated that a new centre-back is at the top of the list for what they want to bring in so I suspect they will try and get something done sooner rather than later.

It was a rough opening match for Southampton and will need to bounce back against a tough Manchester United side if they do not want to go pointless through the first two matches of the season.

I think this is a decent Southampton side who will not be in a relegation scrap this year but I do not think they will pull any surprises and shock the world this season.

Ralph will need to figure out his best lineup however as I do not think the one he put out there against Everton was the best he could do. It is no easy task but I think he will figure it out.
