Ryan Christie

Christie was linked with Saints before Euro 2020 and now the Sun have suggested that a move is still a possibility.

The report admits that a move next summer is most likely with Christie then out of contract at Celtic, but perhaps Saints could accelerate things in the final days of this current window.

The 26-year-old rarely plays in central-midfield but signing him could free up other players like Stuart Armstrong to provide cover centrally

Christie has proven to be a very creative player with Celtic and has 41 goals and 44 assists in 150 games for them. His attacking abilities would make him a natural fit for the number 10 roles in Ralph Hasenhuttl’s 4-2-2-2 setup.

It may be more likely that Saints will move for a natural central-midfielder this time around but they clearly have Christie as a target for the future and could be able to strike a deal now if they wanted to.
