Six deadline day signings that Southampton have made in the past

Southampton have had a successful transfer window so far and have made eight signings in all.

Departing players have been replaced well and, most importantly, depth has been added to avoid the problems that injuries caused last season.

Ralph Hasenhuttl now has better options to choose from and a healthy amount of competition in every position in his team but could still add an extra central-midfielder to his group.

Midfield is the only position where there is not two players for each role and Saints can still make a loan signing if they find an available player who would fit in well with their group.

It is possible that a surprise could arise in the final hours of the window and the club have made many signings on past deadline days that have come out of nowhere.
