Six deadline day signings that Southampton have made in the past

Southampton were looking for a defender on transfer deadline day in January 2021 but could not get the targets they wanted.

Instead, discussions with Liverpool got them Minamino on loan until the end of the season.

He did not make a huge impact on the South Coast glimpses of his talent. Two excellent goals in 10 appearances showed what he could do but Saints have ultimately not followed up with any more interest this summer.

Minamino is also back involved with Liverpool and looks set to be part of their squad for this season.
