Kevin Danso

Southampton needed a defensive signing in the summer of 2019 and eventually took Danso on loan from Augsburg having missed out on other targets.

He was only 20 when he arrived and his performances showed that – even though there was clearly some talent to be developed by a club in the future.

In all, he only played 10 times for Saints and was a starter in the famous 9-0 defeat to Leicester City.

Danso is still an Augsburg player and has taken a loan at RC Lens in France this season after spending the 2020/21 campaign with Fortuna Dusseldorf.

He started his youth career with MK Dons in England but took the move to Germany in the hope that it would give him a pathway to the very top.
