Southampton will travel to take on Sheffield United in the next round of the EFL Cup and look to follow up on their 8-0 victory in the previous round.

Sheffield were recently relegated from the Premier League and have had a rough start in their campaign to try and get back there.

The Saints will have to like their odds in the matchup as Ralph knows how to get a win against Sheffield and will want to make a cup run this year.

If Southampton can make a deep run in one of the cups that would be huge for the club and the confidence of the players.

Let us see how both teams can win this match.

How Sheffield United Will Win

Sheffield United have a big task in front of them if they want to win this match. Playing in the Championship is a grind and if they hope to make a run at promotion they have to decide how seriously they want to take these cup matches.

If they choose to rest some of their regular starters they will likely let Southampton take the match to them and sit back and defend for the majority of the match. This has worked against Southampton in the past as they have shown they are vulnerable to the counter.

Sheffield cannot concede because I do not see them scoring more than a goal in this match.

How Southampton Will Win

The Saints are coming off a draw with Manchester City and are looking to collect their second win of the season. We will likely see a heavily rotated side but that does not mean there will be any less talent out there.

Nathan Tella will likely start and he is hungry to prove himself to Ralph and he is just one example. The Saints have depth this year and that will allow them to be competitive in the League and Cups this season.

I think the Saints will simply be too much for Sheffield United and they win this one comfortably by at least 3 goals.
