Eight games in and Saints have finally claimed their first three points of the campaign with a dominant performance.
Going into the afternoons action Leeds suffered with multiple absences including, Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, and Raphinha. Saints showed no sympathy and controlled the majority of the days’ action.

Southampton continuously push forward for the crucial breakthrough, but often found themselves shooting from a distance or on the wrong side of the post.
Ultimately though, the Hampshire side ended the stalemate to claim a massive win. With their first three points of the season, they not only pick up their first league win since May, but also hold off early talk of a relegation battle.
The victory places Saints on seven points just ahead of their opponents who stay on six. Saints can reflect upon an excellent day’s work, but it could have so easily ended in disaster.
