Southampton got their first win of the season last Saturday against Leeds United and now can look ahead at picking up more points.

It was a lower scoring match than anticipated but it was a match dominated by Southampton who really limited Leeds’ chances.

There were some brilliant performances and the top 5 Saints’ look a bit different than the last time we did this so let us take a look at how it shakes out now.

Number 5

Nathan Redmond

Redmond had a fantastic game against Leeds and was rewarded with an assist for his efforts. It usually takes more than one good match to crack the top 5 but what he has done off camera is why he has moved up.

He has seemingly taken a number of the younger players under his wing and have been showing them how to navigate the Premier League. Specifically, he has been mentoring Armando Broja and Tino Livramento.

Redmond may not be the most talented player but he is capable of having fantastic performances and if he can be a good mentor to the younger players that is even more valuable.
