Southampton host Burnley on Saturday and will be hoping to record a second-straight win in the Premier League.

Last weekend’s 1-0 win over Leeds saw Saints put in a performance that showed their true potential under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl and pressure on both the boss and the players was eased in the process.

Four upcoming league games, starting Saturday’s showdown with Burnley, provide big opportunities for more points to be secured and Southampton will see a chance to climb the table even further by the season’s mid-point.

Saints team news has been given by Ralph Hasenhuttl ahead of Saturday and could give him more selection headaches to contend with.

Adams to push back ahead of Broja or Redmond for Southampton?

Positive news came as Hasenhuttl confirmed the return of Che Adams, who could come back into the team after recovering from a minor muscle injury picked up on international duty with Scotland.

There looks to be good competition for the two striker roles right now after strong showings from Nathan Redmond and Armando Broja against Leeds seemingly put them ahead of Adam Armstrong and Che Adams for this weekend.

Burnley’s setup may call for a different combination this time around but good competition means that there are four strikers ready to give their all when required. Saints also have a League Cup game at Chelsea to contend with next week and will need to utilise their full range of options.

Stuart Armstrong made his first Southampton appearance of the season last Saturday after coming on as a substitute and could be ready for a start this time around, although his minutes will be managed carefully to avoid any reoccurrences of the injury.

Jack Stephens and James Ward-Prowse are set to be the only Saints absentees.
