Southampton return to Premier League action this weekend after a cup match on Tuesday as they travel to take on newly-promoted Watford on Saturday.

Southampton are coming off a slightly disappointing draw against Burnley who they really should have beaten and Watford are coming off a massive win against Everton.

Both teams believe they will be able to win this match which means we will be in for a good one. Let us take a look at how both teams can win this match.

How Watford Will Win

Watford put in a fantastic performance against Everton this past weekend that saw them put in 5 goals. Watford have some exciting attacking talent. like Ismaila Sarr, who are capable of shredding defenses on their own.

If Watford can replicate their performance they will be able to win this match comfortably. But, you cannot just turn up and expect to put in 5 goals every match. They will need to work hard and make sure they do not concede an early goal or two to Southampton because that can turn the match on its head.

How Southampton Will Win

Southampton cannot allow Watford to get comfortable on the ball. I believe they really need to press this match and create as many turnovers as possible to be successful.

Southampton still struggle to convert their chances so that means they need to create as many as they can. It will likely take two or more goals to win this one so the Saints need to bring their top game to win this one.

What will be most interesting is to see the lineup changes that Ralph makes due to James Ward-Prowse returning and the performance some players had against Chelsea.
