Two Southampton players up for monthly Premier League awards
By Marc Walker
Southampton duo Tino Livramento and Che Adams are both up for Premier League awards after their contributions in October.
Livramento finds himself amongst a star-studded list of players competing for the Player of the Month gong, whilst Adams’ superb match-winning goal against Watford last weekend sees him up for Goal of the Month.
Livramento will be hoping to become the seventh Southampton player to win his respective award and will surely be one of the youngest players ever nominated. He has proved a very consistent presence for Saints so far this campaign and is expected to go on to become a future star.
Southampton fans wishing to support their players can vote for Livramento here and Adams here.
Southampton duo will join exclusive club lists if they win
There is certainly some stiff competition for both Tino Livramento and Che Adams as they look to land their awards but they will both join an exclusive club of Saints players to do so if they gain the most votes.
Matt Le Tissier was the first Southampton player to be handed Player of the Month and won in both December 1994 and October 1996. Mickey Evans, Kevin Davies, James Beattie (twice), Graziano Pelle and Fraser Forster have also been previous winners.
The Premier League only introduced its own Goal of the Month for the 2016/17 season but Sofiane Boufal and Moussa Djenepo have both been Southampton winners in the past for spectacular solo goals.
