Southampton are being linked with a 23-year-old Japanese striker Ritsu Doan who currently plays in the Dutch league for PSV Eindhovan.

According to a report from Calciomercato, the Saints have been scouting the Japanese international. According to transfermarkt, the player has 2 goals over 6 matches in the league and has shown great potential.

He would not cost too much either as he is not super young and could be a good purchase to add a little more depth to our striker options.

However, I do not really see a move for this player happening. I think the club could find better options and also it seems like the goals may be coming from our strikers as they have scored in the last few matches for the club.

If goals continue to be hard to come by for our strikers, then yes, I believe they should spend money in January to bring in a new player to help out in that department but the Saints are unbeaten in their last 4 league matches and if that trend continues there is no reason to mess with what is working.

I still believe in Che Adams and I would like to see him partnered with Armando Broja up top as I believe that would be our best combination if Ralph continues to go with two strikers up top.

Only time will tell and the January transfer window is still a month and half off but we could see some business getting done before then with players who will be out of contract at the end of this season. We will continue to update you with all the information.
