Norwich City 2-1 Southampton: Premier League – Player Ratings

Midfielders
James Ward-Prowse, Centre-Midfielder – 7
Deceptive in possession and spread the diaganols to KWP to near perfection in the first half. A couple of strikes toward frame today, but nothing on target. His free kicks are still down from years previous. The final FK today was just totally wasteful and we do nothing from our corners.
Oriol Romeu, Centre-Midfielder – 7
Really poor in coverage of KWP leading to 1st goal. Spreading the ball adding a dynamic to the attack. Possessed brilliantly today and should not have been taken off.
Ibrahima Diallo, Attacking-Midfielder – 4
Under-hit passes was the theme of his game. Bit of skill to open up Elyounoussi in the 40th minute. Played in Che Adams perfectly for an attempt ahead of the half. Other than that, he was decent breaking out of pressure in the midfield, but his passing was awful. We cannot be sure why he was experimented with in this match, but it did not work out and he should not have played the full 90.
Mohammed Elyounoussi, Attacking-Midfielder – 6
Looked dangerous and got himself into some excellent positions early. Took the volley off his chest well, but had 4 big chances in the first half and none hit frame. The match changed after he left, and Southampton’s opportunities dwindled, there is something to be said of this. Moi may not have the composure and technique in front of goal, but his build-up in the midfield is critical.
