Strikers and Substitutes

Che Adams, Striker – 7

When he gets hot, he gets hot.  Scoring just 3 minutes in with a calm finish under pressure.  Snap shot in the 43rd minute was a good save by Krul, but it could have been placed in the corner.  Hold up play was brief, but solid and he may have been removed at the hour due to his International duty.

Adam Armstrong, Striker – 6

Did well to keep the play alive and assist on Che’s opener.   Salisu and Bednarek found his feet direct after opening Norwich through the wing backs.  Put himself in good position late to equalise, but looked like he was out of gas.  There is a good striker with pace and touch here, but he plays with his head down and needs to adapt at this level.

Armando Broja, Substitute Striker – 3

Barely touched the ball and made no impact in this match.  A chance to flash his pace early and he looked like he was running through cement.  Zero movement without the ball around the box and was a massive letdown when his team needed a boost.  Got a late chance to break free and was brought down.  Looked disinterested today or is still not 100%.

Theo Walcott, Substitute Attacking-Midfielder – 3

Sadly has become the new Shane Long for Saints fans and the most criticized of players. Probably would not have made the trip if Stu or Moussa were healthy.  The blunder that led to the Norwich corner and missing sitter are not going to help.

Lyanco, Substitute Centre-Defender – 3

Left his mark at the back post for the Norwich winner.  Had flashes of decent play in possession, but made it 3 for 3 in substitutes making a negative impact.
