Southampton battle hard for a 2-2 draw with Leicester. Saints lead the contest twice, but were ultimately lucky not to suffer defeat.

The result Sees SFC in 16th Place on 15 points. For context, the club are four points off 10th.

Leicester, meanwhile have had a lukewarm start to the season and are in 10th. This leaves them five points away from a desired Champions League spot.

Southampton produced The best first half performance of the season. The team put the visitors under early pressure and did not allow them to settle. The red and white army were quick to get forward and looked fired up.

Their reward came swiftly as Jan Bednarek Poked the ball home after just three minutes. Ralph Hasenhüttl’s men where Pegged-back, but were uncharacteristically unfazed by the blip.

More characteristic though, was the halftime drop off the Hampshire outfit suffered. The Foxes quickly took advantage and sought to impose themselves on the second half.

The St Mary’s side were second-best after the break, but just about held Leicester at bay.
