Ramsdale's previous Russell Martin statements could now see him joining the boss at his new Rangers project.
It's probably been for the first time in the last 45 days or so, that St. Mary's is relieved on their Aaron Ramsdale stance. That's rightly so, given they might have just struck gold with Galatasaray's transfer interest in him.
But peaceful times and St. Mary's have hardly been a match all this while. And, while fans have imagined a Ramsdale's Galatasaray switch already, a decisive twist has just hit the player's transfer saga.

That's because, as per TalkSport, Rangers, led by promotion-winning Saints boss Russell Martin has joined Galatsasary in the keepers' transfer race. But if this surprise entry wasn't enough, it's Ramsdale's previous terms with Martin that put Rangers in pole position to sign him.
In case you remember, Ramsdale made a massive admission months ago, as he called Russell Martin one of the biggest reasons to sign up for the Saints last year. Otherwise too, having been one of the main disciples of the manager last season, a reunion of the two can be on the cards.
Connecting the dots, with the latest Rangers' intervention for Ramsdale, the Scottish side automatically leapfrogs Galatasaray's loan interest at least on paper.
Honestly, despite the snarky affection that has existed between Southampton and Martin recently, Ramsdale's Rangers move wouldn't affect the Saints sportingly. In fact, this loan departure could prove to be a blessing in disguise for them.
That's because, with Rangers standing a chance to make a deep run in the Champions League, Ramsdale can return stronger to St. Mary's for a tipped Premier League campaign next year. Needless to say, Ramsdale can fix the occasional measly errors he committed in his debut Southampton spell.
Truth be told, nobody had imagined Ramsdale's reunion with Russell Martin again. That too, especially since it can now happen before Sulemana joins Ivan Juric at Atalanta.
Still, we have seen Ramsdale's transfer situation changing every now and then. Is a Rangers move the final summer stop? We will see.
