Ex-Southampton forward Kevin Davies hoped that Ivan Juric's incoming will lead the Saints to extract some manageable goalless draws and cheeky wins but the Croatian failed to do so.

No one can deny that already in a time of turmoil, boss Ivan Juric's sacking has just made Southampton's situation even more uncertain. Yet, the fans feel the happiest for this long-demanded decision to be finally made.

But thought why so? After all, despite ex-boss Martin's end tenure failure, his force out wasn't celebrated this much.

Well, this is because Ivan Juric's tenure failed to achieve the sole task for which he was appointed. Definitely, though his era had some positives, seeing multiple star players get going, the manager failed to deliver when Southampton’s situation demanded urgency.

After all, arriving when the club was already teetering on the edge of relegation, it just isn't acceptable to get along by accepting an individual lowdown at the moment. Ultimately, this mentality carried on the Saints' results, seeing him record multiple lows here.

Now, agreed that fans may sometimes get emotionally driven, but Juric's Southampton failures were so evident that it even had ex-stars embarrassed of the situation.

Think, it's being exaggerated? Listen to what former club forward Kevin Davies had to say on the 49-year-old's tenure.

Davies expresses disappointment with Juric's Southampton failure

As quoted by the Daily Echo, Davies expressed his disappointment with Juric, saying: "I was hoping he would just come in and make them harder to beat. You know, get some 0-0 draws, grind out a 1-0 here and there. It just hasn't happened."

But know what hurts further? Ironically, what Davies pointed out, grinding out draws and narrow wins, was once Juric’s trademark at Torino, yet he couldn't replicate such cheeky results here.

Still, again, what's happened has happened now and Southampton must move on from the manager. Needless to say, the club requires a dependable manager at the earliest to at least avoid Derby County's record.

All eyes are now on Southampton’s next appointment, with several names already linked. Let’s see who steps up to take the role, and whether they can steady the Saints' sinking ship.
