Will Still is known as the one of the most exciting managers in the world. Sure, he might be relatively inexperienced, but as a young English manager making strides in European football, he is bound to have the spotlight on him.
Now, he's taking on Southampton in one of their transitional (and hopefully developmental) seasons. He aims to take the Saints back to the Premier League, and this time, set up the foundations to stay there.
At the Saints right now, the future doesn't look too bright. Sure, there are a handful of young players making great moves, however, they're likely to be on the way out this summer. So, for Southampton, next season will be about rebuilding just as much as it is about improving.
Enter Will Still, and his connection to young players.
Familiar name from Man City could follow Will Still to Southampton
According to a report from Express (h/t The Daily Echo), Southampton are involved in the mix to sign Juma Bah from Man City. He spent the second half of last season under Will Still at RC Lens, which might explain Southampton's interest.
Despite Bah showing every ambition to play for Man City in the future, another loan move could be on the cards for him. After all, he has a long way to go before he can be involved in a Pep Guardiola defence.
Enter the world's most famous "stepping stone" club: Southampton. It would be a completely natural move for Bah, who hopes to play in the highest echelon of English football. At Southampton, he could dip his toes into the water, while playing in a familiar system under a familiar manager.
Will Still should be given complete trust by the Southampton board. It's unlike the club's ownership to do that, but Still will have a project at the back of his mind, which he can only complete if he's given trust and financial backing from Solak and co.
