A Damion Downs lineup hint has been issued to Will Still and if implemented, Southampton fans can be on their feet every now and then during the match.
Will Still couldn't hide a proud coach's look when his former disciple Hugo Ekitike sank his current club to a defeat. Exploring this same angle, don't you think, how great it would be if Still also had an attacker dragging Southampton to a win against a former acquaintance.
But getting a chance to go one-up over previous coaches isn't an everyday thing, right? Definitely not, until Saints realise Damion Downs had all these stars aligned against Gerhard Struber's Bristol City, only to stay invisible on the score-sheet once again.
So, unlike Ekitike, Downs didn't make Still smile three nights ago, and neither did he leave Gerhard Struber delighted on the touchline.
Front three hint delivered to Still that contains Damion Downs
Both ways, the latter has got nothing to lose with Downs' present shape, but he did issue one advice to Will Still that can be both fruitful or futile.
As quoted by the Daily Echo, Struber hinted at one lineup change: "The quality at Southampton is an outstanding high level, and with the quality of guys like [Leo] Scienza, he will find big chances in this position."
Scienza's flank must not be altered, noted and star man Adam Armstrong has a Blackburn Rovers past to settle, so his position isn't open for takers. But Cameron Archer, well, he is starting on borrowed time and placing Downs there won't drive angry reactions from the away fans.
Spotting Archer in the opposite half apart from some annoying finishes, is quite a headache in itself for Southampton fans. With Downs, a rollercoaster flow of emotions is guaranteed with every awkward ball control, some off-target shots and a few game-changing misses.
The Blackburn visit can have all of this on display, and let's hope the 21-year-old puts one attempt inside the net too.
