Ivan Juric's Saints favourite viewed as crucial for €25m Milan move

Ivan Juric's regular Southampton lineup pick, Lesley Ugochukwu has entered into the frame for a summer transfer involving Serie A title contenders Milan.

Although the last month began with Southampton fans trusting Russell Martin to help offload some of the Saints' underperformers, the tables have completely turned and it's Ivan Juric instead stepping up for the damage control. In terms of the updated Southampton roster, there isn't much Juric can do.

Yet, his Italian rivals Milan can certainly initiate a mutual midfield trade for one of the Croatian's evergreen mainstays at St. Mary's. That Juric favourite is Lesley Ugochukwu who will never forget the current Atalanta coach's helping hand in bringing him from the bench to the base of Southampton's defence.

Again, Milan isn't in the market for the former Saint's defensive traits but the holding midfielder they wish to attain will offer Ugochukwu another move away from Chelsea.

Ugochukwu lined up to replace Valencia's Javi Guerra

Mentioning a Matteo Moretto report, Milan Post stressed upon the Serie A giant's willingness to complete a move for Valencia ace Javi Guerra around the region of €25m.

Now, some Southampton fans must have noticed that their winter coaching target Carlos Corberan oversees the La Liga outfit. That in itself suggests he must have evaluated the Saints lineup strengths at the bare minimum.

And now, he seems amazed by the Frenchman's higher ceiling on the pitch.

In his own words, Fabrizio Romano talked about the 21-year-old and Corberan's future linkup, saying: "Chelsea are not accepting loan proposals for Lesley Ugochukwu as priority is for permanent sale. Valencia and more clubs interested but Chelsea say no to loan move."

In all honesty, the Blues might think of a loan move with some buy options, so, Ugochukwu jetting off to Spain for a possible European football qualifying run is very much likely. Apart from that, let's see whether Milan change their mind and keep the ex-Southampton star in their summer shopping list too.
