Nathan Jones takes Southampton action Ruben Selles couldn't do in summer

Nathan Jones has gotten off to a healthier Championship beginning than his Southampton fellow Ruben Selles. He even bagged a Saints starlet although Selles was more likely to but couldn't in the end.

Southampton might be invisible in the eyes of the Championship's consistent clubs' pack, and fans can't argue against the present rankings. Still, the Saints definitely hold a major slice in the division's representation through past and present participants, though there aren't some shiny statistics to measure it.

Moves like Charlie Taylor tuning for West Brom trainings instead of Southampton's are quite fresh examples in this respect, incase you don't want to think deeper into it.

Taylor's opposite fullback, James Bree is also a good choice, whom the Saints confirmed as entering in a newer group at Charlton Athletic. Saying with honesty, this string of loan clearances is quite decent but Bree taken back into Nathan Jones' tutelage feels somewhere empty.

Jones snapped up a familiar Saint while Selles was unable to

That emptiness hinges on due to Jones' successor Ruben Selles not acquiring any of his Saints apprentices and consequently, doing worse than what Charlton fans must've feared for themselves in the second division.

And no, there wasn't any acute scarcity of in-form names with Ainsley Maitland-Niles holding good exit cards on his table at some point. But Selles didn't shop among these group of individuals who would atleast have more than sufficient knowledge to beat the defeat-loop before it became commonplace.

Plus, Selles could now be trapped in a "no less than three points" demand from his Sheffield fans once this international pause goes away. There will be a matchup against Bree's and Jones-guided Charlton, where the former can be forced to step down from tactical duties if he can't make lightwork of the latter.

As Saints fans, that will be a dream clash none of us dreamt while both Jones and Selles were dismissed from St. Mary's.
