Southampton and Leicester City have shared out a few players over recent years.
In terms of defenders, both Jannick Vestergaard and Ryan Bertrand have called St. Mary's and King Power their homes over the past couple of years, with Vestergaard set to rip up his contract as the Foxes ply their trade in League One next season.
Joe Aribo was also on the Leicester books last campaign as another player with Saints history, and this trend looks as if it will continue on with Danny Ings close to joining Russell Martin's ranks in the Midlands.
Once a Premier League hotshot, Ings will hope to breathe life back into his waning playing days with Martin and Co.
Amazingly, this ongoing trend doesn't look as if it will stop with the veteran attacker, with Leicester closing in on the free transfer signing of Alex McCarthy, as well, who has just walked away from Tonda Eckert's group...
Leicester close in on McCarthy signing
Alongside Aribo, McCarthy was announced as a Saints figure who would not be penning a new contract this summer.
This wasn't an out of the blue development, as the 36-year-old had only played seven times in the Championship last season for his long-term employers.
Only keeping one clean sheet from these irregular appearances, too, the time was right for the ties to be severed, and it looks as if the ageing stopper will be linking up with ex-Saints teammate Ings at the King Power very soon.
Martin also worked alongside McCarthy when he was in the St. Mary's dugout, so it's a move that makes perfect sense for all parties involved, as the one-time England international tries to resurrect his stale career in League One.
It remains to be seen, though, if McCarthy will be a success story or not, as he's hardly been a number one stopper on the South Coast in recent memory.
Will he be a success in League One?
Indeed, across the last four seasons, the Guildford-born keeper has only made 26 first team appearances in league action.
It will be intriguing to see how he fares at Leicester if he's chucked into the starting XI as Martin's number one choice in between the sticks, as he isn't used to the spotlight being on him so intensely.
Of course, his wealth of past experience does suggest he should be a success, irrespective of any rust forming, with 84 career clean sheets coming his way, playing in the Premier League, Championship, and the third tier.
A large chunk of those fell in the EFL, too, with 35 clean sheets collected in second tier and League One action.
12 of those came his way during the 2009/10 season for Yeovil Town, with that standout Glovers stint in League One propelling him to the top-flight with the likes of Reading and Eckert's men.
Hopefully, he can turn back time and prove himself to be a competent stopper in League One again next season for the Foxes, with Martin clearly a fan of him, to want to secure a reunion deal.
With Ings set to come through the door, too, there is a real Southampton feel to the Midlands giants next season, with both the old hand striker, and the seasoned keeper wanting to prove there's life in their legs still, having played at the very top, but now, have had to accept their new statuses in the lower reaches of the EFL.
