Southampton fans are brimming with joy knowing Aaron Ramsdale's long-term commitments might remain at St. Mary's but the future may not be as joyous as imagined.
In ten days, the first month of the transfer window will be over but the Aaron Ramsdale situation is still inviting debates among the Southampton fans. After all, retaining him doesn't carry a Paul Onuachu-like risk but leaving millions of transfer fees on the table won't go unnoticed on the club's financial health.
Thus, this 50-50 transfer balance must be tilted on one side and owner Mr. Dragan Solak has done his best to find that sweet spot. As quoted by the Daily Echo, Solak presented Ramsdale's opinions saying: "He's even personally looking at all the options of how he would go and come back if we are promoted because he loves the place and he loves the club."
From the fans perspective, they won't have many objections if this loan route is followed but, truth be told, a temporary stint could go both ways for the Saints.
Ramsdale must take his teammates' experience into account
Merely three summers ago, two of Southampton's future captains Jan Bednarek and Jack Stephens also opted for a short-term change of scenery in the Premier League but upon their return, found the club heading towards the Championship.
And the ironic part was they both led their then-employers to ensure top-flight safety come the end of that campaign. Later, the rock-solid defensive duo began Southampton's promotion mission and aced that objective successfully.
At present, there are decent chances of them overseeing another such collective effort in front of the Saints faithful. Overall, the veteran defenders must've had no regrets on the whole turn of events but this story turned out to be a nightmare for Armel Bella-Kotchap and Paul Onuachu.
Both of them never had it easy with any manager, though Tall Paul's Ivan Juric linkup was satisfactory. Hence, Ramsdale might become the next one to fall out of favour with the manager if the following year turned out to be a terrible one for Southampton and needed a coaching shuffle again.
Let's see whether Ramsdale ultimately remains inclined to give it a go to these make-or-break loan fears or not.
