Southampton's rising prodigy Sam Amo-Ameyaw reverberates with manager Ivan Juric for a January loan exit.
Southampton has always been a hub for shining talents. Having produced players like Alan Shearer, Gareth Bale and Adam Lallana, the Saints have been one of the best youth development arenas in Europe.
And the tradition keeps carrying over, with new talents like Sam Amo-Ameyaw taking their legacy forward.
The 18-year-old's major breakthrough came in his EFL debut, where he scored his first senior goal for Southampton. But sadly, the rising prodigy has had negligible game time since then.
Clearly, to let such a talent suffer for game time would be the last thing Southampton would want. Understandably, boss Ivan Juric had advised Amo-Ameyaw to leave on loan.
Thankfully, the young English prodigy has taken the manager's word positively.
Sam Amo-Ameyaw echoes Juric's opinion about going out on a January loan
As quoted by the Daily Echo, upon being asked for a loan exit, Amo-Ameyaw replied: "Whatever the club thinks is best for me, is what is best for me. Hopefully, we can sort something out so I can get back to playing again. I love being around the first team, but I want to play football, to be honest."
Understandably, Amo-Ameyaw respects Southampton and isn't satisfied with his lack of playing time. So much so that he is even working hard to remain in brilliant physical shape.
Amo-Ameyaw continued: "For me, keeping fit is the most important aspect. I have to be prepared in case an opportunity arises."
At this stage, it feels difficult for Amo-Ameyaw to get a role in the starting lineup. Already burdened with the fear of relegation, Southampton would not want to experiment at this stage.
Thus, though giving such a player on loan might surprise some, it will be the best decision for everyone involved.
The hope is that Sam Amo-Ameyaw returns even better from a potential loan spell.
