Tottenham Hotspur's new signing Kevin Danso named James Ward-Prowse as his role-model Southampton teammate.

Recently, the transfer deadline day was one of the most busiest markets in a while. Many Premier League clubs struck some impressive deals but there was one club in particular that left Southampton fans engaging.

Further, it's a Premier League heavyweight instead of Southampton. Seems a difficult guess but at this stage many Saints might have known it's Tottenham Hotspurs again.

Well, them signing Mathys Tel rather than Dibling isn't the discussion now. It's their other recruitment Kevin Danso, who has completed his Premier League return this week.

In case you need some reminding, Danso spent one season on loan at the St. Mary's around five years ago. Agreed, that shorter span isn't enough to form a lasting impression about his on field performances.

Still, Danso was a fringe player at best for Southampton. In a nutshell, the centre back was good in the first few matches but quickly got phased out to the bench.

Now, the 26-year-old opened up on his Southampton struggles and mentioned James Ward-Prowse as an exemplary teammate.

Speaking to Rising Ballers, Danso was quoted by The Spurs Web saying: "Even though I wasn't playing a lot then after a few months, just the support from the players, the likes of Ryan Bertrand, Nathan Redmond and, which I will always say, James Ward-Prowse, just the professionalism, the things that he put in place, the things he did. I definitely took a leaf out of his book because he's the most professional player I've ever played with. There's no stone unturned and he just works at everything."

Honestly, Danso is absolutely accurate in depicting Ward-Prowse. Apart from being an elite playmaker and a set piece specialist, the English midfielder was a classy player.

He spent nearly his entire career at Southampton and always epitomized the culture and values of the club. It can even be argued that he might have retired at St. Mary's itself if not for a devastating relegation before his exit.

Finally, Let's desire that Ward-Prowse returns to Southampton in the future, be it as a player or as a coach.
