Southampton have learned about a massive revelation concerning Danny Rohl. His club Sheffield Wednesday are monitoring Southampton's interest and wants them to pay a hefty upfront cash to part ways with the former.

Negotiating bulky paychecks to recruit new players is commonplace across the Premier League. Further, it feels justified as well given that they are the ones who let their on-field performances do the talking on the match results.

So, it's easy to convince a club to even shell out some extra transfer funds to claim their preferred target. Compare this with appointing a manager and the story becomes entirely different.

That's because almost always every team lures the best available coaches from the management talent pool.

Regardless, Southampton have arrived at a crossroads where they feel inclined to go against the norm.

Further, what do you expect the consequences of a season where the Saints are heading towards the worst possible manner of relegation? Therefore, the corrective measures demand a safer pair of hands and they won't come cheap in Danny Rohl's scenario.

Danny Rohl's Southampton reunion hits monetary checkpoint

According to a recent report from journalist Alan Nixon, the asking price has been kept at £2m.

As quoted by Givemesport, Nixon said in his own words: "The swoop for Rohl was stopped because Owls demanded his commendation figure in full, a valuation of around £4 million. Southampton will only have to find half of that cash once they drop back to the EFL because of the small print in Rohl’s contract."

Going by Nixon's words, it's easy to connect the dots about Sheffield Wednesday's chairman's old claim. The latter remained firm that the clubs discussed this possibility but a few improving strides under Ivan Juric made the fans forget that aspect.

Nevertheless, anyone can make bad judgements and Southampton supporters must raise their voices in Rohl's favour now. Fans and faithful have enjoyed a good decision-making authority at the club and their approval might encourage the Saints to overcome the financial hindrance present in this move.
