Southampton attacker Kamaldeen Sulemana is on the radar of various clubs for a January move. But while the buyers urge for a loan deal, the Saints want a permanent sale of Sulemana.

The last few weeks have been quite eventful for Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. Despite having some memorable moments, his future at the club still remains up in the air.

Having struggled for regular game time this season, boss Ivan Juric's arrival changed Sulemana's fate. Since then the Ghanaian winger has featured in every Saints fixture.

Recently, in the FA Cup against Swansea, he repaid the manager's trust in him. Delivering a MOTM performance, including a goal and an assist, Sulemana laid the foundation for their 3-0 win.

But sadly, now it feels too late to revive his Saints career. Though his comeback has sparked a transfer interest from other clubs, Southampton seems to have made up their mind about him.

Southampton reveal stance on Kamaldeen Sulemana's January exit

As per reports from Ouest France, Nantes seems to be interested in signing Kamaldeen Sulemana. However, there is a major holdback.

Being just 4 points clear of the relegation zone, Nantes mainly wants Sulemana to maintain their Ligue 1 status. Thus, the French club desires to acquire him on a loan deal.

But that doesn't sound in Southampton's interest, who wants a permanent exit move for Sulemana.

While the club's stance on him may sound harsh, it might be the right thing to do.

Having spent a record fee of £22M on him, Southampton would want to redeem a fraction of the money while he interests clubs'.

Otherwise also, as things stand, escaping relegation feels difficult for Southampton. Thus, chances are they would have to secure a top-flight berth through the Championship once again.

By that time, their academy might just explode a bunch of talents, ending Sulemana's need. Hence, the wiser decision for Southampton would be to proceed with their current stance.

The January transfer window still has time, with quite a few clubs interested in the 22-year-old winger. Let's hope that Southampton finds a potential buyer for Kamaldeen Sulemana soon.
