Southampton supporters are full to the brim with optimism ahead of next season, despite some major things still being up in the air at St. Mary's.
Indeed, it still isn't known what punishment will be handed to Tonda Eckert for his involvement in Spygate, with the latest development being that the controversial German was interviewed by the FA at the start of July.
Alongside this uncertainty, Southampton will wander into the fresh Championship season with a four point deduction next to their name, as they immediately have to play catch up with the rest of the intense division.
Despite all this potentially bringing the mood down, a joyful and upbeat spirit remains around St. Mary's, with the season ticket numbers set to break records.
Southampton set to break records
According to the official club website, the Saints look set to break their record for the amount of season ticket holders at St. Mary's, when the new season rolls around.
At the time of writing, it is estimated that a whopping 15,000 people have picked up a season ticket, despite the horrors of Spygate still being felt.
Clearly, the South Coast club have been overwhelmed by the demand, with Chief Executive Officer Greg Baker stating, via the Saints' site, that he would like to "thank every single supporter" who has renewed for displaying unwavering "passion and loyalty."
It would have been easy this summer for fans of Southampton to turn their back on their beloved club, after Spygate made a mockery of their treasured team.
Instead, next season looks as if it will be very busy at St. Mary's, as a vengeance tour begins to finally win that out-of-reach promotion up to the Premier League.
The new season shouldn't be feared
It goes without saying that next season will see Southampton be public enemy number one in many of their fellow Championship teams' eyes.
The Saints won't want to be weighed down by this enemy tag being above their heads. Rather, they'll want to play up to it, with a siege mentality forming as they try to gain promotion.
An us versus them mentality could be the best way to play next season, with a quick start out of the traps instantly getting the passionate home masses on their side, as a four point deduction is overturned with ease.
The Saints' squad hasn't been decimated this summer, either, despite reports stating that several players wanted to leave post-Spygate, with both Daniel Peretz and Cyle Larin rejoining, knowing there's unfinished business to address.
It has all the makings of being a fascinating Championship campaign to take in from a South Coast perspective, as the glory of winning promotion, after all that has transpired, would be a very sweet ecstasy.
Having been put through the wringer with the misery of relegation, and then the unprecedented setback of Spygate, the Southampton fanbase deserve a jubliant season to come.
They've done their bit in coming out in their thousands to renew season tickets.
Now, it will be up to the players on the pitch to deliver, with a month or so to go until Southampton return to the Championship with a bit between their teeth.
