Southampton have been labelled as the undisputed winner among all interested parties trying to secure Jesurun Rak-Sakyi's signature as long as the Saints lodge some meaningful bids.

Hours ago, Southampton fans came to know about Sunderland and Armand Lauriente's unforeseen update. In all honesty, it wasn't encouraging, but don't you think there are few things less enthusiastic than a Premier League newcomer's craving for splashing big, every time and for everyone they can.

Hence, they will obviously have a second go at another left attacker and there are valid clues it could be someone from Southampton. Better put, it can be Samuel Edozie who was viewed as an essential makeweight for one of the Black Cats' dream Champions League additions, not long ago.

Saints shouldn't be impatient for attackers except Rak-Sakyi

Thus, he can very well be on Sunderland's shopping tabs, but what about his current employers? The Saints had just dared to dream of a healthy presence on the wings and its effectiveness in dictating their attack, so, it would be harsh if that promise ended before the competitive season started.

Still, if persistent offers pour in, then trying a hand at signing Jesurun Rak-Sakyi won't be a bad thought. And experienced scout Mick Brown isn't shying away from claiming it as a winning thought for Southampton.

Infact, he cautioned the soon-to-be European football playing star's other possible suitors from ignoring Southampton's financial muscles. Taking Rangers example, the Football Insider quoted Mick Brown saying: "If somebody like a Southampton comes along with a £10million offer, that's going to put Rangers out of contention, so I think they could miss out."

Yes, Saints can also be left out if they neared the dates of Rak-Sakyi's supposed European fixtures, without talking Palace into a deal. It's all open as ever on the left flank department, and let's see who remains in charge of that after the summer transfer deadline.
