Southampton make the trip to Leicester City this Saturday and face a team against whom they've lost their previous three games. Both clubs' fates are already sealed, and they will be playing EFL Championship football again next season after enduring equally catastrophic seasons.
The Saints are looking to finish the campaign on a positive note, and there's no better opportunity to get a first win since February than away to Ruud van Nistelrooy's Foxes. The pressure is growing on the Dutchman after he failed to steer this weekend's opponents to safety.
A defeat for the Hampshire outfit will confirm a bottom-placed finish to the 2024-25 campaign. What's worse, they'd join Sunderland as the two clubs to finish rock-bottom on three occasions. It's a record caretaker manager Simon Rusk will undoubtedly want to avoid.
Rusk will once again take charge in his caretaker role as the rumour mill runs wild over who will become Ivan Juric's permanent replacement. An interesting development heading into the game at the King Power concerns both clubs' reported interest in Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl.
Rohl is viewed as the ideal man for the Southampton job after previously working at the club as assistant to Ralph Hasenhuttl. But reports this week claim he's eyeing the Leicester job should Van Nistelrooy make way at the end of the season.
Here's our preview of the game between the two relegated sides.

Leicester Team News
Van Nistelrooy will be without goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, who is ruled out for the rest of the season with a groin injury. The Foxes are also set to miss Ricardo Pereira, Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Facundo Buonanotte after suffering injuries last weekend.
Jakub Stolarczyk will deputise for Hermansen and he'll be eager to catch the eye in the latter stages of the campaign. Jamie Vardy will be making one of his final appearances as a Leicester player after announcing he'll be leaving when his contract expires next month.
Leicester City predicted lineup vs Southampton: (4-2-3-1): Stolarczyk; Justin, Coady, Faes, Thomas; Ndidi, Soumare, McAteer, El Khannouss, Ayew; Vardy.
Southampton Team News
There are no issues for Rusk heading into the clash with the Foxes as his squad have a clean bill of health. That includes Paul Onuachu, who sat out last weekend's defeat to Fulham.
Rusk could look to continue with Ross Stewart up top or bring Onuachu back into the side. Interest in Tyler Dibling continues to grow, and he's been named on the bench for the last three games.
Southampton predicted lineup vs Southampton: Ramsdale; Walker-Peters, Stephens, Harwood-Bellis, Bednarek, Manning; Downes, Ugochukwu, Fernandes, Sulemana; Stewart.
Leicester vs Southampton prediction
There is negativity all around the King Power at the moment, with Van Nistelrooy feeling the heat. There are issues growing between the Dutch coach and several players including Jannik Vestegaard and Harry Winks.
This could work in Southampton's favour if they take their chances against a dire Foxes backline that has conceded 12 goals in their last six games. Let's not forget they also don't know where the back of the net is, managing just two goals since January 26. This could be a first win for Rusk.
Prediction: Leicester 0-1 Southampton
