The brand new Southampton youngster who could be the next Tyler Dibling

A wide array of Southampton youngsters keep impressing this season, whether that's at their boyhood club, or out on loan.

Moses Sesay is now officially off the mark for Colchester United after a promising start to life at the U's, and Nicholas Oyekunle has two goals next to his name for his own loan employers, Leyton Orient.

Back on home soil, another young homegrown attacker has impressed in the form of Princewill Ehibhatiomhan, with a brace coming his way last time out for Adam Lallana's U21s.

He's already made Tonda Eckert's substitutes’ bench this season, so watch out for the 19-year-old's first team rise.

It's far too early in this other starlet's career to be tipping him for immediate first team minutes, but he is a very exciting talent to keep an eye out on, as the Championship promotion chasers beat some elite clubs to his signature...

The brand new Saints youngster who has just signed

It has just been confirmed that the South Coast giants have welcomed 17-year-old Yunus Linton into their U18 set-up.

Recently on trial with Chelsea, the Championship club have managed to swoop in and land the teenage midfielder, who will now link up with the rest of Andrew Surman's U18s.

Clearly, Linton is very highly rated, as before the Saints won the wide-eyed attacker, it was noted that Brentford, Lille, and AS Monaco were sniffing around for the youngster.

Still, despite all this interest, Eckert and Co. have managed to win the 17-year-old, as another promising talent for the future arrives at St. Mary's.

Director of Group Talent Strategy Andy Goldie would note, when the signing was unveiled, that Linton is an "an exciting young talent" and the fact that the Saints managed to win his signature, ahead of those named suitors from the Premier League and Ligue 1, is a "great credit to our "Talent Acquisition and Academy Recruitment teams."

It'll be some time before Linton is being named in the senior fold, as he beds into his new environment in the U18s.

But, the hope on his end will be that he can be another off the successful youth conveyer belt at Southampton, with Tyler Dibling the most recent glowing example of a homegrown sensation becoming a major Premier League acquisition.

Dibling hasn't quite hit the ground running at Everton since leaving the comforts of the South Coast behind, with only 20 first team appearances coming his way at the Toffees over two unmemorable seasons.

This underwhelming start to life on Merseyside can't dampen how electrifying and gung-ho he was at the Saints, however, with two goals coming his way in the Premier League during the 2024/25 season, as Russell Martin regularly chucked him into contests in the big time, all while he was only 18 years of age.

Linton is only one year off hitting that same tender age, so he will be aiming to follow in Dibling's footsteps, with this viable route into the first team surely one major factor behind his decision to sign for the Saints' U18s.

Dibling would cost David Moyes' men £42m in the summer of 2024 after that breakout campaign in the Premier League, with Linton potentially going on to be a sale of that same magntiude if he settles in well, and is handed senior chances by Eckert.

The German is a manager who is unafraid to utilise youngsters, hence Ehibhatiomhan being named on his bench, alongside Cameron Bragg being a first-team regular, so Linton could be the next youth player making waves down the line.
